FIRST TIMES

The past few days have been very very exciting. Bemba has learned many new tricks and is truly delightful to observe. Here, Zosia is grabbing her cute little toes and trying to stick them into her mouth, but she can't really get the hang of it quite yet. Soon she'll be sucking away at those toes.

Here we have Sofi's first true contact with an animal. Until now, she hasn't paid a whole lot of attention to pets, but tonight she figured out that cats are soft and fuzzy and she really wanted to pet Maya. Maya, who has bore a lifetime of torture from Small Stanley, was hesitant at first but then warmed up to Zosia. It was so cute to see Zosia explore something new.

This was really exciting. Zosia has learned to sit all by herself! Isn't that amazing. She can only do it for a few seconds and then she plops over to her side, so you have to be really careful, but I'm really amazed at how quickly her sitting skills are progressing. Soon she'll be sitting at the table! We can't wait to show off all our new tricks for daddy when we get home!

The Great Grape Fiasco

The other day, Zosia did the most remarkable thing (of course, as she does many remarkable things every day.) For a while now, I have been giving her grapes to lick every day and she absolutely loves them. So much so that she mananged to rearrange an entire countertop full of groceries to get to the big bag of grapes, much to the dismay of Grampa Stanley who was sure she was reaching for the half and half as a true hunter-gatherer would. Alas, Sofi chose the grapes and was beside herself to get a lick.

What do you call that in child development terms, Carrie? Object recognition?
Needless to say, we were all very proud.
